Looking to put new all seasons on the Fiesta since my current ones are pretty toast. Anyone have any experience with General Tire AS-05 tires? They’re one of the least expensive options that I’m looking at ($700 CAD for a set of four). Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I had them on my Jetta a number of ye ars ago. Might’ve been the predecessor, but I honestly feel like they changed the personality of the car compared to the balding, no-name tires it came with. I recommend them.

There’s also the Altimax. That’s what I have my eye on for my Mazda 3.

I had those exact tires as OEM replacements on my Sonic before I traded it.

I really liked them. The Sonic’s factory tires were garbage and I noticed a huge difference in every way over the original Hankooks that were on it. Better grip, more comfortable, less noise. Their performance in snow was the biggest improvement, (but that might be more because the Hankooks were so bad.)

I did get a nail in one (I think while doing handbrake turns) when they were pretty new and the warranty covered me for a new tire.

I even kind of liked the look. You can see they have larger, ‘ sportier’ tread blocks on the outer edge that gave it more of a performance tire look.

Yes tire shopping sucks. I was like, oh, I really only need new front tires on the Fiat since the previous alignment issues destroyed just  one of the four tires. I’ll get something better on the fronts. But no, my only winter option in the same size I have is the exact same shitty tire. GAH.

I’m just gonna do what everyone did when I asked for tire recommendations , and tell you to get BFG Sport Comp 2s.

Apparently I can’t get them in my tire size.

It’s the worst, especially since I’m planning on selling the car anyway. It’s like, do I really want to spend $800 CAD on a car I’m going to sell in a few months anyway?

I can’t vouch for them anyways, I went with Coopers

All day long I’d go with these. Three peak rated as well

I’m always replacing one tire at a time.  Drives me nuts! I actually rejoiced when I could buy a pair for the minivan, because finally I would be kinda symmetrical at least.

I’ve got them on a car and quite like them- they feel good in non-winter weather and passable for the occasional nice  winter day. But I’m no driving or tire expert.
